I'm saddened to hear of Nat's passing. It's wonderful that you were able to spend those four days with him. He must have gained a lot of love-strength from your visit which I'm sure helped him enormously in the last days. I've not heard of Holly Near - I really like this song, her lovely voice and the message - the sun certainly does keep rolling rolling around in the sky...
I'm glad you like the song. Holly was a folk singer for many years. Perhaps most well known for her concert with Arlo Guthrie, Ronnie Gilbert, and Pete Seeger that resulted in the live album H.A.R.P. Also "Singing for our Lives" and "the Great Peace March". Lovely soul.
Holly reminds me of Carole King but better. I’m going to find more of her work to enjoy. Thanks for that.
Two days of rain this week and this morning is clear. Thank goodness. I joked about people standing outside their front door with an unlit cigarette because they were smoking the air.
Massive layoffs of firefighters, but maybe they are happy, too. The first rain started when I was doing something in a steel roof storage building and I went out like a little kid in Botswana to feel the rain down in Idaho! The second day, it was heavy on and off.
Today, the sky is mostly blue with a few wispy clouds. Nowa proper September can commence.
Holly Near was here at three Old Town School of Folk Music last year- great concert - she's made an impressive recovery from a number of health problems. The adoring crowd certainly appreciated it.
The string of things she went through just in the last few years - damn! I'm super impressed she's still here. Love knowing she was back in Chicago. She is so wonderful. Glad you were able to see her (again, yes?)

Thank you, Diana.

So glad you got rain!! We did not, alas. Just cooler temps. Smoking the air indeed!
Glad you like Holly. That makes me happy.

Condolences to you.
Definitely feeling the time careening by more so than usual this month, you're not alone
Thank you.
Yes, September often has that feeling. And then the leaves fall. Yikes.
I love the photo of you and Nat. Listening to Holly Near. I did not know her. Thank you
Thank you. And glad you like Holly!
