Repetitio est mater studiorum. History has many rhymes.

A deity selects a cultus, gifts land to it,encourages brutal behavior, and might makes right.

Yahweh, children of Jacob,Exodus to PROMISED Land, treachery and slaughter…Deo Gratias.

Jupiter, children of Aeneas, Romulus,Rome conquers mare nostrum etc.,death or forced removal.

God, Christians, Columbus, Isabella, Ferdinand, the Pope,Jesuits. Conquering heroes abound.

Odd that post-Christian times driven by bent tribalism at last let us honor the natural roots.

As Will Rogers (Oklahoma man and half Cherokee) said, "There is no argument in the world that carries the hatred that a religious belief does."

Outstanding Jan. A very sad chapter in our history that at least needs to be recognized as it was.

Thank you, Gary. Fortunately, more recognition seems to be happening. The President referring to today as Indigenous Peoples' Day is a HUGE step forward!
