Once in 1992, we drove off the coastal road into a village but couldn't go any further. No cars in the village so you had to leave them at the base and walk up the cobblestone into another century. Lots of women in black hovering in doorways. Another time, we decided to visit the inhabitants of a falling-down farmhouse in an olive orchard overlooking the sea. The farmer and his wife welcomed us and gave us olives but couldn't converse with us in Italian, only Sicilian dialect spoken.

If careful focus on the roadways gets you home safely, and as the Latin noun FOCUS means the hearth or fireplace at home, do you operate on many levels or is it more like cycles within cycles?
