Beautifully said, Jan. And powerful. Just like a woman. Add your name to the list of women who have given of themselves and made this world a better place!

Jan, once again you have brought new light and insight to a grateful reader. Thank you so much! My mom died at the beginning of the pandemic. She survived her fight with lung cancer for more than 30 years, with smiles, laughter, joy and pain; and, thankfully, a man who doted over her for as long as I can remember. COVID took her from this place, but never from my heart. I will not mourn her passing. Ruth Elizabeth shall always be with me. Even now, she is everything a woman is; strong, compassionate, clever and humorous.

Thank you Walter. Your mother is truly a woman to celebrate and she will always be with you. She gave everything for you and your brothers. She fought the good fight! Long live Ruth 💗

I'm usually not that much of a sentimental person. But the two Moms in my life are both going downhill, I felt this years M-day more than ever. I often think about all the sacrifices women have made just so that I can experience life, all the labor of my ancestors. It's a bit morbid but my Mom is a Moon in Pisces type, full of so much gratitude and good idealistic vibes, and she might die any day now so I'm just so incredibly emotional about this these days.
