Soon you'll wish you owned stock in Home Depot or Loews! Good luck.

Have you tried scoring the old contact paper and then applying that same TSP Stuff you have? Once it gets under the contact paper, it might help dissolve the adhesive so it will be easier to scrape off...

Oh! That’s a good suggestion. Same thing as with wallpaper- and the paint guys tried to sell me a product just for wallpaper removal (too many products out there!). But there is a tool for poling tiny holes in the paper that we already have- I’ll try that. Thanks for the suggestion!

Olive oil works well on glue, though I’m not sure about lots of it that’s been there for decades. EVOO not needed; I’d you try it, buy the cheap stuff!

Ovviamente, olio d’oliva works per tutti cosi!! 😆 Reminds me of the father in “My big fat Greek wedding” who used Windex on everything-lol- but in this case, olive oil is certainly superior!! Hey, I’ll try it! Thanks!

I can see why the Italy house looks like it’s easier now. So much work! You ( and Tom) certainly have stick with it power! Rest and refresh in between!

Thank you! Tom returns to work tomorrow so he’s a bit stressed about how much needs to be done. But Sunday morning is a good time to relax a bit... and enjoy pumpkin pancakes 😊

Loved the video and the soundtrack! Thank you for sharing your trip, your sleepy dogs, and the companionable labor of those first days with everything to do! May the togetherness of it carry you through! 😬😴

Thank you, Tara! I had copyright issues with the John Denver song so had to use a cover band instead. lol Tom is back at work today and I'm off to paint the bedroom!

I noticed the song was a little different. Thought you were playing an old live version on your car stereo and recording it during travel! 😂 My theories of things are so frequently wrong that I marvel how they ever let me out of graduate school. Let's just say you found a convincing cover band! 🙄

I was thinking of the spray that you can use to get old wallpaper off with. Put that on before you scrape to soften the glue. Just a thought. I'm glad you made it safe and sound.

Yes, I thought of that - well, the guy at the paint store recommended that - lol! in the end, Tom googled the question and came up with using a blowdryer - and that actually worked!!

Have you tried sand blasting?

That sounds like it requires a tool that I don’t have. We did discover that using a blow dryer warms the glue and makes it much easier to pull off. It’s still hard work, but not as slow.
